What are your teaching methods? How do you assess my child and how do I get to know about progress?

Our teaching methods are interactive, practical and tailored to each child's pace, learning style and individual needs.

We begin with a play-based assessment of age-related objectives in the subjects you would like us to focus on. From there we create a personalised action plan to identify and address any learning gaps.

This is used alongside school feedback and observations from parents and carers with ongoing assessment woven naturally into our sessions to monitor progress and celebrate achievements.

Where needed, we may temporarily adapt our planned sessions to focus on areas children are currently learning at school particularly if they are finding a topic challenging.

Children preparing for key assessments will have access to a range of practice materials and opportunities to build familiarity and confidence ahead of the real assessment.

Upon request, we can also provide formal assessment practice in a supportive and age-appropriate manner.

What if I need to cancel a lesson?

Please inform us as soon as possible if you need to cancel a lesson based on emergencies or sudden sickness.

We kindly request at least 72 hours notice for other absences to rearrange your session without charge.
For cancellations with less notice a fee may apply.

What happens if a session is cancelled?

In the rare event that we need to cancel a session,we will provide as much advance notice as possible and work with you to reschedule at a mutually convenient time or offer a full refund for the cancelled session.

Do you set homework?

While our sessions are designed to be comprehensive, we may provide optional activities or suggestions for practice at home to reinforce learning, tailored to your child's needs and your family's preferences.

However, no traditional homework is set.

What makes your approach to helping children stand out?

Our approach is distinctive due to a strong focus on confidence-building, creativity, and learning through play. We understand that not all children thrive through traditional methods therefore so our sessions are interactive, practical, and adapted to each child's pace and individual needs.
Our aim is to help children feel safe, supported, and excited to learn while building both academic skills and self-belief.

Do you have SEND experience?

We have extensive experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Our qualifications include Level 2 & 3 Understanding Autism, Level 2 Dyslexia Awareness, Level 2 Dyscalculia Awareness and Level 2 ADHD Awareness, Makaton and PECs training helping us provide personalised and supportive learning experiences for all children including neurodivergent learners.

We take a holistic approach when supporting families working closely with parents while taking into account official diagnoses alongside EHCPs and school reports to help provide the very best support for each child.

We can also support families through referral and support processes by providing observations progress feedback and educational evidence where appropriate.

What should someone do if they're interested in booking a session or learning more?
